"For
over a year now, I've been part of the above-titled new
book being developed by author Scott Aughtmon that interviews
prevailing student ministry leaders from across the country
on what it takes to birth a lasting ministry to teenagers."
"The
book is in the final editing stages - I just read the
manuscript and let me tell you, it's amazing. Contributors
to the book include Mark Oestreicher from Youth Specialties,
Jonathan McKee from The Source for Youth Ministry, Greg
Stier of Dare 2 Share, Ben Hardman at Southeast Christian
Church in Louisville, KY... the list goes on and on. Somehow
it ended up that one whole chapter shares my philosophy
of ministry and strategy insights. Crazy, I know."
"Anyhow,
when the book is available, I'll be sure to share the link
love with you here. I consider it a priviledge to write
about what God has done to impact teenagers in spite of
myself."

"As
I read through the pre-release of this book, it was a blessing
to hear from my peers, that I have held in high regard,
how they would handle the same situation as I have been
given."
"It
was very similar to being in a dialogue seminar and
people are sharing from their good experiences and their
struggles on what would be the best course of action to
a certain situation."
"This
tool ends up being a great resource for rookies as well
as veterans because of its approach; I would highly recommend
it to anybody involved in youth work as both a primer and
also a boost."

youth worker. He's been a regular contributor to Interl'inc

one of the top 20 Youth Pastors by The Church Report Magazine.

|
"As
I read through the pre-release of this book I was amazed
at how many
different answers there were to the same questions."
" I still feel strongly about the answers that I gave,
but seeing all the other answers from my peers, who I respect,
gave me a larger picture of youth ministry overall."
"From
this book you will learn about the many ideas of youth ministry,
even ones I don't personally agree with. The unique format
of this book gives you a great collection of practical insights
from real youth workers."
" Most, like me, are actual youth workers. I
highly recommend this book for all youth ministers--those
just starting out and those wise veterans. You will take
away many nuggets and new insight to implement what you
are doing at your local church. You will because there are
so many practical insights offered."

Brenda
Seefeldt
Brenda has been working in youth ministry since 1981 and still
serves in her local church. Brenda's experiences, influences
and deft insight birthed the youth ministry resource, Wild
Frontier (http://www.wildfrontier.org), in 1990. Wild Frontier
is a place for "out there" youth ministry ideas
and resources. One of those ideas has been family-based youth
ministry so Wild Frontier spun off all of those ideas and
resources to Family-Based Youth Ministry (http://www.familybasedyouthministry.org).
Brenda is also the author of many popular resources. |

"Scott,
stop trying to market this just to youth pastors
because this is great information for every ministry leader!"
"When
I first saw this book, I had a nagging concern
would this just be another rehash of all the other stuff
thats out there for youth pastors? Frankly, the
main reason I bought it was because Id been impressed
with Scotts blog postings."
" What a delightful surprise! Reading this is like
listening in to a mastermind group of youth pastors sharing
how they have learned from mistakes, and how they set up
ministry to be truly effective. I read the whole thing in
one sitting, furiously taking notes and highlighting key
ideas."
"Now
heres an important point: this book is good reading
for everyone in ministry leadership roles, including lay
leaders. Why? Because the primary message, and much of the
content, applies build ministry systems that carry
on without you, train leaders, pour yourself into people.
I am recommending this book to all the Bible teachers I
coach and encourage."

"Reading
Scott Aughtmon's new Ebook, '...Lasting Student Ministry'
is akin to
sitting 'round a table with a band of well-weathered youth
ministry veterans
as they share their various views on assembling a student
ministry with real
eternal impact."
"You'll find great insights through the streams of
convergence and divergence in their thinking and praxis.
The combined years of youth ministry experience of the
ministers Scott pulled together is in the hundreds of years.
These folks have more to share than just a really
good crowd-breaker involving balloons, chocolate sauce and
a live gecko!"

Packed
With Useful Information
"So far it has made me start to think about what
is really important with my youth like... Am I just their
friend or I am teaching them the things of God? Am I teaching
them to build their relationship with Him - one that will
stick with them long after I am gone, or they have left
to go to college?"
"Thanks
for the book, I was a little skeptical about buying online,
but what impressed me most was as soon as I contacted you,
I recieved an email within mintues helping set up the download
and the contacts to follow up that all was okay. God please
you in your ministry and for having a passion for youth."
And
in later email...
"A couple of other things that I have learned as I
studied your book is that the youth, along with the adult
leaders, need to develop a vision statement as suggested
by Jonathan McKee. Also Wes Black stated that as a youth
leader we need to spend time with adults to be able to stay
in touch with what is going on and to inform the church
about our ministry's direction. This book is packed with
so much useful information that a youth pastor or leader
could change a same old, same old group into a growing,
outreaching youth group."

Never
Bought An Ebook? That's Ok.
"I confess that I am over 40, I hate computers and
I have never, ever,
ordered an ebook before. But "How you can build
a lasting Student Ministry"
looked like it had answers to some questions I was asking,
so I took the
plunge and ordered it online. I got the email from Scott
with instructions for downloading the book. Guess what?
I couldn't get it to work."
"That didn't surprise me. My computer hates me right
back. I hit "reply" on the
email and explained the problem I was having. Scott responded
to my cry for
help quickly and personally and helped me thru the download
process.
Personal service? That is so old school. I like it. I may
even download
another ebook. Someday."

Worried
About Ordering Online?
Don't worry. I'll help you if you have any problems.
"I
am a youth director for Jr. and Sr. High youth groups in
a small town in
Iowa. I am always looking for ways to improve our ministry
to our youth. I
ordered How To Build A Lasting Student Ministry. I did not
get the link, but
did receive my receipt for purchasing. There was an e-mail
address for
Scott Aughtmon directing a person to e-mail if there were
problems
downloading the book. I did so and received an immediate
response. I had
already received the link for the book, but it was great
to know that
someone is so diligent to return an e-mail when you are
having a problem."

A Practical Book You Can Share With Your Whole Team For
ONE Price.
"Thanks
for the email. The download was smooth and easy and I
loved being
able to download bonus e-books too!"
"I
haven't had a chance to look at it yet but I have printed
it out, given
copies to my fellow youth leaders and I will give you some
feedback once I
have a look at it."
"Thank
you for creating a resource for youth leaders. I was
amazed at how
relevent the scenario that you featured in the introduction
of the e-book
was. We have just started our youth ministry and so many
resources
targetted at youth leaders fail to be practical and do not
cater for those
who are starting with 12 kids (and only a few of those are
regulars)."
